ABOUT US

ADVICE|2018 is organised by the Oslo Centre for Biostatistics and Epidemiology (OCBE), a joint research centre integrating the activities of the Department of Biostatistics, University of Oslo and the Section for Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Oslo University Hospital. OCBE is one of Europe's most active biostatistics groups. The centre currently includes six tenured professors, three associate professors, twelve researchers, and several postdoctoral fellows and PhD students, making up a group of about 50 researchers. OCBE’s research is internationally recognized, with research interests spanning a broad range of areas, including time-to-event models, causal inference, Bayesian inference, epidemiological studies of lifestyle and diseases, stochastic models for infectious diseases, genomics, big data, antibiotic resistance, and high dimensional data and models.

OCBE provides free statistical advising and training for researchers and PhD students of the University of Oslo, Oslo University Hospital, and all hospitals in the South-Eastern Norway Health Region. OCBE delivers more than 12 000 hours of advising to more than 650 biomedical research projects every year. About 40 OCBE researchers are involved in the biostatistical advising service.
